2012 – Sanja Jovanović In Debrecen

Sanja Jovanovic recently won the silver medal in the final 50 meter backstroke race during the European annual championships that were held 0on 26th May 2012 in Debrecen, Hungary. The Croatian backstroke swimmer finished this race in 28.31s,missing the first place by just six-tenths of a second.

This is the best result that Sanja has had in her 50m backstroke swimming career so far,and she is holds the record for this race. Her qualifying time was 28.81 and she took second place in the semi-finals after clocking 28.52.

Sanja started swimming competitively at the age of nine, and has gone on to win various medals in different competitions. The first medal that she won was a bronze medal for the 50 meters backstroke race at the European annual championships held in Madrid in 2004. She also won a bronze medal in the championships held in Eindhoven, Netherlands where she also came in third place. In 2007, she won gold in the 50 meters race and also won silver in the 100 meter backtroke.
